Black Fire Winery 8-6-16 Wrap-up.

Well, that was cool! Black Fire Winery is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to play. It’s a great night out. The audiences are fantastic, the wine is spectacular, and the owner, Michael Wells is the best! I had the pleasure of opening for Ira McDonald’s Blue Line band which featured Steve Cherne on bass, Michael Snyder-Barker on percussion and Fred on harmonica. Ira sings, plays guitar and writes some great tunes. They worked through their crowd pleasing set and then invited Ted Montei on up to play a few with them. Ted was awesome. The band then asked me to come up and do a few more songs with them. I loved it! I may have gotten a bit fired up and took the songs out a little bit… Super-charged, adrenaline-fueled fun. I might add that my opening set featured special-guest and life-long friend, Bill Belote, on the upright bass as we absolutely destroyed my set closing “Just Like a Dog”. Thanks, Bill! It was just like old times. I’m going to be playing there again on August 27th and September 30th. Both shows start at 6.
